Miguel Matamoros

Miguel Matamoros, born on May 8, 1894, in Santiago de Cuba, was a Cuban musician and composer. He began his musical journey at age 16 by composing "El Consejo", a bolero. In 1925, he formed the Trio Matamoros with Siro Rodríguez and Rafael Cueto, marking a significant breakthrough in his career. The trio's first recording was released in 1928, and they went on to perform extensively across Latin America and the United States.
