Mie Nakao, born Mineko Nakao on 6 June 1946 in Kokura City, Fukuoka Prefecture,
is a Japanese singer. She debuted as a singer at age 16 with the release of
"Kawaii Baby" in 1962, a cover of Connie Francis's "Pretty Little Baby," which
sold over a million copies. In 1963, Nakao starred in the film Hai, Hai Sannin
Musume alongside Yukari Ito and Mari Sono, as part of the Watanabe-Pro Sannin
musume group managed by Watanabe. She continued her music career with notable
releases including "Love is a Liar / Don't Go, Night" (1967), "Love's Sharrock"
