Ratt, an American glam metal band originating from Hollywood in 1973, was formed
by singer Stephen Pearcy. Initially known as Firedome and later Crystal Pystal,
the band evolved through various lineup changes before changing their name to
Mickey Ratt in 1976 and settling with Ratt in 1977. In 1982, guitarist Warren
DeMartini joined the band. Ratt signed with Atlantic Records after releasing a
