Michigan & Smiley is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall duo consisting of Papa
Michigan (Anthony Fairclough) and General Smiley (Erroll Bennett). They gained
prominence during the late 1970s dancehall music wave. They started their career
at Clement "Coxsone" Dodd's Studio One, releasing their debut single "Rub a Dub
Style" (1980), which became a Number 1 hit. Their subsequent single "Nice Up the
Dance" further established them in the genre. They recorded their biggest hit
"Diseases" with Henry "Junjo" Lawes, featured on their second LP Downpression
