Michael Stein, born Ekkehard Hessler on August 7, 1950, in Wolfen, Germany, is a
singer known for his contributions to pop and Schlager music. As a child, he
moved to West Germany and grew up in Ihringen and Breisach, where he learned to
play the accordion at age seven. During his school years, Stein played in a
student band and began his musical career in the early 1970s with various dance
bands, including The Silver Stars. Stein's breakthrough came in 1984 with the
