Michael Raucheisen was born on February 10, 1889, in Rain, Germany, and was a
German pianist and accompanist whose early instruction began under his father, a
glassmaker and organist, before the family moved to Munich in 1902. He studied
piano, violin, and conducting at the Akademie der Tonkunst and made his debut as
a violinist in the Hofoper orchestra in 1906, later joining the Münchner Wilhelm
Sieben‑Streichquartett. From 1919 to 1931, he accompanied the virtuoso violinist
Fritz Kreisler on European, Canadian, and Japanese, Chinese, and Korean tours in
