Medeski Martin & Wood are an American contemporary jazz trio formed in New York
City in 1991 by keyboard player John Medeski, bassist Chris Wood and drummer
Billy Martin. They performed in local venues and went on to garner national
attention. Collaborators include guitarist John Scofield. They have released
many albums since their 1992 debut, Notes from the Underground, with more than
20 appearing on Billboard's Jazz Albums chart. Combustication (1998) and Juice
