MC Roger, born Roger Santos Miranda in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro, is a
Brazilian funk carioca MC and songwriter who built his career out of Rio de
Janeiro’s baile scene, blending conscious lyrics, 150 BPM energy and the street
narratives of the Baile da Penha and Baile da Gaiola era. He first appeared
online in 2016 with the longform track “Medley Consciente,” a sequence of verses
