Max Webster was formed in Toronto, Canada, in 1972 by guitarist and vocalist Kim
Mitchell, bassist Mike Tilka, and drummer Phil Trudell. The trio, later joined
by keyboardist Jim Bruton and drummer Paul Kersey, released the single "Blowing
the Blues Away" in 1976, establishing their presence in the local rock scene. In
1977 the band signed with SRO Management and issued the self‑titled album Max
Webster, followed by High Class in Borrowed Shoes the same year; both were
