Mason Dixon
Mason Dixon was an American country music trio from Beaumont, Texas, active from
1979 to 1993. Founded by lead vocalist and bassist Frank Gilligan, guitarist
Jerry Dengler, and guitarist Rick Henderson, the group performed frequently in
the Texas nightclub scene before gaining wider attention with the single
“Armadillo Country” (1980). Signed to Texas Records, they released the debut
album, Only a Dream Away (1983), which included a cover of the song “Every
