Mark Spiro was an American songwriter, record producer, and recording artist. He
moved to Los Angeles in his early 20s to pursue a career in the music industry.
After meeting German producer Jack White, he spent several years working in
Germany as a singer, songwriter, and producer for artists including Laura
Branigan, Anne Murray, Engelbert Humperdinck, and David Hasselhoff. Upon
returning to Los Angeles in the mid-1980s, he established himself as a
songwriter, with one of his early notable cuts appearing on the Top Gun
