Marie Rottrová, born November 13, 1941, Ostrava, Protectorate of Bohemia and
Moravia, is a Czech singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, and television
presenter known as the "Czech Lady Soul" for her soulful vocal style and
wide-ranging repertoire. Coming from a musical family, she began piano studies
early and gained attention after appearing on Czechoslovak Television, singing
