Marie‑Paule Belle, born 25 January 1946 in Pont‑Sainte‑Maxence, Oise, is a
French singer, pianist, songwriter and comedian whose career began in the late
1960s. After earning a psychology degree and performing in cabarets such as
L’Échelle de Jacob, she won the 1969 Chapeau de Radio Monte Carlo contest,
releasing her first 45‑rpm on CBS and a second with BAM; her debut Ça m’est égal
appeared in 1973. Marie-Paule Belle gained national recognition with the single
"La Parisienne", earning a gold record in 1977, and released the albums
