María Jiménez Gallego, born February 3, 1950, in Triana, Séville, Spain, was a
singer known for her contributions to Latin and World music. At fifteen, she
moved to Barcelona to work as a cleaner. Her career began in Madrid's tablaos
under La Pipa's mentorship during the early post-Franco era. In 1976, Jiménez
released her debut album featuring rumbas, tangos, and boleros with arrangements
