Mandel Bruce Patinkin (November 30, 1952), better known as Mandy Patinkin, is an
American actor and singer who rose to fame with a series of iconic roles in
musical theatre during the 70s. Born in Chicago into an upper-middle-class
Jewish family, he attended the prestigious Juilliard School of Drama and made
his stage debut in 1975 on the musical Trelawny of the 'Wells,' where he starred
alongside Meryl Streep and John Lithgow. After playing several roles in a
