Mamonas Assassinas was a Brazilian rock band formed in 1995 that originated from
the group Utopia. The lineup consisted of Dinho, Júlio Rasec, Bento Hinoto,
Samuel Reoli, and Sérgio Reoli. Their 1995 debut studio album sold over three
million copies in Brazil, becoming one of the fastest-selling records in the
country's history. This release featured the hit singles "Vira-Vira" and
"Pelados em Santos," both of which dominated the national airplay charts.
