In 2004, brothers Sascha, Sebastian, and Johannes Madsen founded an indie
project in Clenze, Lower Saxony, which they named after their last name, Madsen.
With Niko Maurer on bass and Folkert Jahnke on keyboards, the band’s lineup was
complete . The lead single “Die Perfektion,” released in March 2004 , heralded
the debut album *Madsen*, which was released two months later . The self-titled
LP, released via Vertigo Records, peaked at No. 23 in Germany and propelled
