Mack David, born on July 5, 1912 in New York City, was an American lyricist and
songwriter. Initially planning to become an attorney, he attended Cornell
University and St. John's University Law School before turning to songwriting in
the mid-1940s. His early successes led him to Hollywood, where he worked
extensively in film and television. David wrote lyrics or music for over one
thousand songs, including "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo" from Cinderella (1950), which
