British rock band, Lush, formed in London in 1987 by Miki Berenyi and Emma
Anderson, who met at Queen's College and initially played in separate bands
before forming Baby Machines with Meriel Barham. After renaming the band Lush
and signing with the independent label 4AD, they released their debut EP Scar in
October 1989, produced by John Fryer of This Mortal Coil. The following year,
