Lucila Campos, born Clara Lucila Campos Marcial on August 16, 1938, in Lima,
Peru, was a Peruvian singer known for her contributions to criolla and
afroperuana music. Her musical journey began at nine when she participated in a
local singing festival. In 1957, Campos started her professional career as a
soloist with the group Gente Morena de Pancho Fierro. She later joined Perú
Negro in 1969, winning the Festival Hispanoamericano de la Danza y la Canción in
