Louise Ebrel was a Breton singer who was born in 1932 in Treffrin. She was the
daughter of the singers Eugénie Goadec and Job Ebrel and performed a repertoire
of traditional chants, including kan ha diskan and gwerz. She first appeared on
stage in 1973 at the Fêtes de Cornouaille. In 1991, she began a long-standing
collaboration with the singer Denez Prigent, performing in a duo for fifteen
years. Ebrel also performed with the punk group Les Ramoneurs de menhirs and the
rock band Red Cardell. Her recordings include the albums Gwriziou (1994), Gwerz
