Los Sírex is a Spanish rock band from Barcelona, formed in June 1959. The
initial lineup included Guillermo Rodríguez Holgado, Antonio Miers, and Manuel
Madruga, who were influenced by Elvis Presley. The group began performing
locally and gained exposure after signing a contract to record a 45rpm EP
featuring the song "Muchacha bonita" (1964). Their breakthrough came with the
single "La escoba", which became a hit in Spain during the Christmas season of
1965. Los Sírex performed as the opening act for The Beatles' second concert in
