Los Cenzontles is a Mexican-American musical group and cultural arts academy
founded in 1989 by Eugene Rodriguez in San Pablo, California. The group promotes
Mexican roots music through research, performance, and education. Their
recording Papa's Dream was produced in 1994 for Los Lobos, Lalo Guerrero, and
members of Los Cenzontles. Their first album, Con Su Permiso, Señores, was
released in 1995. Over the years, Los Cenzontles collaborated with artists such
as David Hidalgo, Linda Ronstadt, Ry Cooder, Taj Mahal, Jackson Browne, The
