Los Alegres de Terán, a Norteño band from Mexico, was formed in Nuevo León when
Eugenio Abrego and Tomas Ortiz met in a club in the mid-1940s. The duo began
their musical journey around Monterrey and Reynosa before settling in McAllen,
Texas. Their first record, “Corrido de Pepito” (1948), marked the beginning of
their career for Falcon Records. They later signed with Orfeo Records of Mexico,
which significantly boosted their recognition through promotions in Mexico City
