Folk singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine was born Elizabeth Catherine McAlpine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 21, 1999, and grew up in nearby Narberth. She began writing songs at school and later studied songwriting at Berklee College of Music in Boston, leaving during her junior year to pursue music professionally. After releasing her debut EP, Indigo, in 2018, she spent a semester in Spain in 2019, where she wrote much of her independently released first album, Give Me a Minute (2020).
