Brigitte Lin, born Lin Ching-Hsia in Sanchong, Taipei County, Taiwan, on
November 3, 1954, is a Taiwanese actress and writer. Lin debuted in the 1973
film Outside the Window, becoming one of Taiwan's most prominent romantic film
stars. She transitioned to the Hong Kong film industry in the 1980s and achieved
major success in martial arts cinema, notably for her role as Dongfang Bubai in
Swordsman II in 1992. Lin won Best Actress at the 22nd Asia-Pacific Film
Festival for Eight Hundred Heroes in 1976 and Best Actress at the 27th Golden
