Light of the World, a British jazz-funk band, was formed in London in 1978. The
original lineup included Jean-Paul Maunick, Everton McCalla, Paul Williams,
Neville McKreith, Chris Etienne, Peter Hinds, Kenny Wellington, and David
Baptiste. Their debut single "Swingin'" peaked at number 45 on the UK Singles
Chart in 1979. This was followed by two top 40 hits: a cover of Bob Marley and
the Wailers' song "I Shot the Sheriff" (number 40) and the double A-side single
