Josephine Hiebel, known professionally as Lian Ross, was born on December 8,
1962, in Hamburg, Germany. She began her music career at age 19 under the name
Josy, releasing four singles between 1981 and 1984. In 1985, Hiebel adopted the
stage name Lian Ross and achieved her first chart success with "Fantasy", which
reached number 22 in Germany. Throughout the late 1980s, she released several
more singles, including "It’s Up to You" which became a moderate hit. In the
