Li Guyi (real name 李滇惠, born 10 November 1944 in Kunming, Yunnan) is a Chinese
singer whose career began after graduating from Hunan Art College in 1961 and
performing with the Hunan Opera Theatre. Her breakthrough came in 1980 when she
recorded "Homeland Love" (乡恋), a mellow ballad that resonated with audiences
during China’s early Reform and Opening period and earned her the comparison to
