Leviathan, an American black metal solo project, was founded in 1998 by Jef
Whitehead under the pseudonym Wrest. Leviathan's debut album, The Tenth Sub
Level of Suicide, was released in 2003 and recorded entirely by Wrest on a
Tascam four-track tape recorder. In 2005, Wrest contributed to Sunn O)))'s album
Black One. Despite early legal issues with Moribund Records, Leviathan continued
releasing albums such as Massive Conspiracy Against All Life (2008) and True
Traitor, True Whore (2011). In 2015, the band released Scar Sighted.
