Carl Leroy Pullins, born on November 12, 1940, in Berea, Kentucky, was an
American country singer and guitarist. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, he
played with a group called The Le Sabers, which included guitarist J.P.
Pennington. Pullins' breakthrough came in 1966 when he signed with Kapp Records
and released his debut single "I'm A Nut". This novelty record, written by
Pullins himself, peaked on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs
