Leon Bibb was an American-Canadian folk singer and actor. He began performing as
a soloist in his college glee club and gained wider recognition in the late
1950s and 1960s, including appearances at the first Newport Folk Festival and on
television programs like Hootenanny and The Ed Sullivan Show. Bibb’s discography
spans traditional songs, spirituals, and original compositions, with notable
albums including Foment, Ferment, Free... Free (1969), A Family Affair (2002,
