Leo Watson, born February 27, 1898 in Kansas City, Missouri, was an American jazz singer, drummer, trombonist, and tiple player. He started his career as a scat singer in New York's Whitman Sisters Show. His group, Spirits of Rhythm, gained attention for their improvisational skills. After the band disbanded, Watson pursued a solo career, performing with John Kirby and Artie Shaw. He also collaborated with Gene Krupa on an eight-month tour to Nagasaki.
