Lennart Ginman, born March 2, 1960 in Denmark, is a bassist and composer known
for his work in modern jazz. He started as a singer and guitarist in the
mid-1970s before switching to bass. His first professional performances were
between 1982 and 1984 in Copenhagen with the Joe Banks Blues Band and
saxophonist Joe Pender. In 1986, Ginman formed Page One, which toured Europe and
Canada and released their first album under his leadership in 1988. He
collaborated with Cæcilie Norby for Blue Note Records and earned the JASA Award
