Mathias Delplanque, known professionally as Lena, was born in Ouagadougou,
Burkina Faso. He is a French electronic music DJ and producer who began his
career under the pseudonym Lena, inspired by the character Lena Grove from
William Faulkner's Light in August. His music is heavily influenced by Jamaican
dub. Delplanque released his debut album Floating Roots in 2004. In 2008, he
formed Lena & The Floating Roots Orchestra, collaborating with musicians like
