Lefteris Papadopoulos, born on November 14, 1935, in Athens, Greece, was a Greek
lyricist, writer, and journalist. His parents were refugees who settled in
Greece following the population exchange between Greece and Turkey in 1924.
Papadopoulos began his career as a journalist at Ta Néa in 1959, becoming a
recognized editorialist. He started writing songs in 1963 and collaborated with
prominent composers and singers of his generation, including Míkis Theodorákis,
