Lea Freire
Léa Silva De Carvalho Freire, born on February 26, 1957 in São Paulo, Brazil, is
a Brazilian composer and flutist whose career began with classical piano lessons
at six, followed by guitar and flute studies that shaped her harmonic
foundation. She debuted with the album Ninhal in 1996, then joined Teco
Cardoso's band, with whom she recorded Quinteto (1999). In 2004, she released
Antologia da Canção Brasileira Volume 1 and Volume 2 with saxophonist Bocato,
and toured Europe and Brazil with Thomas Clausen and Teco Cardoso, producing
