Laurika Rauch, born November 1, 1950, in Cape Town, South Africa, is a singer
who performs in both Afrikaans and English. She began playing the piano at age
five and sang alto in the children's choir Oom Hannes Uys se Kindersangkring.
Laurika Rauch's breakthrough came in 1979 with the hit single "Kinders van die
Wind" written by Koos du Plessis, which reached Number 1 on both Radio 5 and
Springbok radio hit parades. Her debut album Debuut was released the same year.
Throughout her career, Rauch has released numerous albums including Jy is te
dierbaar (1983), Vir Jou (1981), Encor...
