Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr.
Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. is an American jazz singer born on 11 August 1974 in
Logan County, West Virginia. He rose to national prominence as the winner of the
sixth season of America's Got Talent in September 2011, performing a rendition
of the song “My Way”. Murphy signed with Columbia Records and released his debut
studio album, That's Life, on 21 November 2011. The record reached number 34 on
the Billboard 200 and Number 1 on the Billboard jazz charts, eventually selling
156,000 copies. In 2014, he was recognized as one of the Ten Outstanding Young
