LAL
LAL is a Toronto-based music collective formed in 1998, featuring vocalist
Rosina Kazi, laptop musician Nicholas "Murr" Murray, and bassist Ian de Sousa.
Representing Ugandan, Bangladeshi, Barbadian, and Indian heritage, the group
blends South Asian and Caribbean influences with jazz, hip hop, downtempo,
broken soul, and electronic music with socially conscious lyrics. LAL's
discography includes the albums: Corners (2000), Warm Belly High Power (2004),
Deportation (2008), Find Safety (2016), and Meteors Could Come Down (2021). Warm
