La Zurda was a rock band from Haedo, Argentina, formed in 1997. The group
blended rock with indigenous sounds from Hispanic America. In 2000, La Zurda won
the La Resistencia contest, securing a recording deal with Surco (Universal) and
$20,000. Their debut album, Falopero este mundo, was released in 2003 under the
production of Mono Morello and Gustavo Santaolalla. In 2007, they launched their
second album, Para viajar. The band performed at notable festivals such as Vive
