La Materialista
Yameiry Josefina Infante Honoret, known professionally as La Materialista, was
born on March 19, 1985, in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. She
is a singer, rapper, actress, and vedette who gained prominence in the early
2000s as a leading figure in Dominican urban music. In 2011, La Materialista was
recognized by the program Noche de Luz with Luz García as "Cuerpazo del Verano."
She won the Q Award for Best Urban Artist in 2012 and Best Music Video in 2013.
In 2013, she became the first Dominican female artist to participate in Miss
Venezuela.
