Kostas Hatzis, born on August 13, 1936, in Livadeia, Greece, is a Greek
singer-songwriter and musician of Romani origin. He began performing at local
events with his father at the age of 16. By 1957, Hatzis moved to Athens and
started recording in 1961. His breakthrough came in the mid-1960s with the Greek
New Wave movement, where he collaborated with notable composers such as Mikis
Theodorakis and Manos Hadjidakis. Notable releases include O Kostas Hatzis
