Kong is a Dutch rock band formed in Amsterdam in 1988 by guitarists Aldo
Sprenger and Dirk de Vries, bassist Mark Drillich, and drummer Rob Smits. The
group's largely instrumental music blends avant-garde rock with heavy metal,
industrial, and electronic influences, occasionally incorporating processed
vocal samples. Kong became known for its distinctive live performances, with
each member positioned in a different corner of the venue to create a
