Knowledge was a Jamaican roots reggae ensemble formed in 1974 in Kingston. The
group’s original lineup included lead vocalist and songwriter Anthony Doyley,
Delroy Fowlin, Earl MacFarlane, Michael Smith, and Michael Samuels. Its early
recordings were produced by Tapper Zukie and included the track “Make Faith”.
The group signed with A&M Records and released the debut studio recording Hail
Dread in 1978. The ensemble followed with the album Judgement in 1980. During
the early 1980s, the band collaborated with producer Roy Cousins on recordings
including “Na Buy Apartheid”, “Chant ...
