Klaus Ignatzek, born on November 4, 1954, in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, is a jazz
pianist and composer. He began playing the piano at age eight and studied music
education at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. Ignatzek's career
took off in the late 1970s when he started performing in duos and bands. He
collaborated extensively with saxophonist Jochen Voß from 1979 and later joined
the jazz rock band Crossing in 1983. Throughout his career, Ignatzek also toured
with prominent artists including David Liebman, Bobby Watson, Joe Henderson,
