Klaatu, a Canadian progressive rock band, was formed in 1973 by John Woloschuk
and Dee Long. The duo initially released two non-charting singles, "Anus of
Uranus/Sub-Rosa Subway" and "Dr. Marvello/For You Girl", before adding drummer
Terry Draper to the lineup. Their early releases included "California Jam",
which peaked at number 36 on the Canadian Top 40 in 1974, and "True Life Hero".
In 1975, Klaatu signed with Capitol Records in the United States. Their debut
