Kiyotaka Tendo, known professionally as Ki-Yo, was born on November 22, 1982, in
Sendai, Miyagi, Japan. He is a Japanese pop singer who began his career by
sending a demo to EMI Music Japan during a visit to Tokyo for a Mariah Carey
concert. His debut single "No No No" was released in October 2000 and reached
Number 45 on the Oricon single weekly chart. Ki-Yo's breakthrough came with his
third single "The Only One", which was used in the romantic drama Pure Soul
~Kimi ga boku wo wasuretemo~ and peaked at Number 12 on the Oricon single weekly
