King was a British New Wave pop band that emerged from Coventry, England. Formed in 1983 from the remnants of the Reluctant Stereotypes, the group achieved chart success in 1984 and are best known for their hit single "Love & Pride", which reached number 2 on the UK singles chart. Their debut album, Steps in Time, was released in 1984 on CBS, followed by their second album, Bitter Sweet, in 1985; both were certified gold and produced five hit singles between them.
