Kim Gordon
A member of the alternative band Sonic Youth from 1981 to 2011, singer, bassist
and guitarist Kim Gordon, born in Rochester, New York on April 28, 1953, has
also been involved in other experimental projects. She grew up in California and
moved to New York in 1980, where she frequented the punk/no wave scene and met
her future husband Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo, with whom she founded Sonic
